Knowledge Base and highlights

Save pages, passages and notes to your Knowledge Base, then ask questions across them in later tasks. Collections group related material, such as Home coffee, Recording setup or Course research.

Save a page or passage

  1. Open a page and wait for the content you need to appear.
  2. Right-click and choose Save page to Knowledge Base. To keep an excerpt, select the text and use the selection’s save action.
  3. Choose a collection and check that the save finished.

You can also ask Starizon to save a note or an answer from a task:

Example request

Compare the brewing advice in these pages and save the notes to my Home coffee collection. Include the source links.

A bookmark keeps a page’s address. Saving the page to your Knowledge Base keeps its readable content, so you can search it after the tab is closed. The saved copy shows the page as it was when you saved it.

Import several sources

Open the toolbar’s Tools menu and choose Knowledge Base → Import pages. Then choose From bookmarks, From open tabs, From links or Upload files.

Select the sources and the destination collection, then start the import. The import keeps running in the browser after you close the panel. Reopen the panel to see saved items and failures, or to pause and resume.

If a site needs a real browser tab, select it in the import results and choose Open and save. If reading still fails, open the page yourself, wait for the content to load and use the right-click save action. Until then, a failed item is not a readable source.

Re-fetch and overwrite saved page content decides what an import does with pages already in your Knowledge Base:

  • Off: reuse the saved content and add it to the selected collection.
  • On: fetch the page again and replace its saved content.

Uploaded documents need readable text. The import panel reports unsupported formats, oversized files and documents it could not read.

Highlight passages

Select text and use the right-click Highlight action, or ask Starizon to pick the passages:

Example request

Highlight the passages about reducing desk vibration on this page, then save them to Recording setup.

You can also choose /highlight from the command menu. Highlighting marks the original words on the page, and saving makes those passages available to future questions.

To highlight several pages, select the tabs or a tab group with @ and describe what to mark:

Example request

Highlight the grind size, coffee dose and total water amount in these brewing guides. Save the passages to Home coffee, keeping each page’s source link.

The task groups its results by page. Expand a page to review its Highlighted passages, jump to a passage or remove one you do not need. A failed page leaves the other pages’ results available.

Use a page’s Save action to save its passages, or Save all to Knowledge to save the available results together. Each page becomes its own Knowledge Base document in the collection you choose. The page’s more-actions menu contains Clear this task’s highlights on this page; it clears that page’s marks from this task. To remove a saved Knowledge Base document, use the Knowledge Base’s own delete controls.

If the page changes, a passage may no longer match its original spot. Reopen the current page and run Highlight again.

Ask across saved material

Type @ in the chat input and select a saved document or collection, or choose Reference in chat from a collection. To let Starizon look through your saved material on its own, turn on Knowledge Base access in the input’s Tools menu.

Example request

Use my Recording setup collection to work out why desk taps are audible. Check the test notes against the isolation guide, and link the passages behind your recommendation.

Starizon searches, reads a relevant passage and uses what it found to search further. When your request calls for it, it adds current pages or web research to those findings. To stay within one collection, say “use only this collection.”

Open the references to inspect the saved passages. Open original page takes you to the live website, which may have changed since you saved it.

Organize and remove material

Use collections to organize sources and narrow future questions. A page can belong to more than one collection.

Deleting a collection keeps its pages, and any page left without a collection appears in Uncategorized. Deleting a page from its last collection moves it to Recently deleted, where you can restore it. Items there are excluded from Knowledge Base searches. Delete forever removes their saved text from the library.

Storage and AI requests

Starizon stores and searches your Knowledge Base on your device. When you ask an AI question, Starizon sends your prompt and the relevant material to the selected model service to produce the answer. Data and privacy explains how local storage differs from model requests.

For a project that also needs files, images and earlier conversations, use a Space.
