Skills and Commands

A Skill gives Starizon reusable instructions for one type of task. A course-comparison Skill, for example, can say how to research the courses, which fields matter and how to show missing information.

Commands start tasks such as extraction and highlighting. Find both under Skills & Command in the toolbar’s Tools menu, or type / in the input.

Create a Skill in chat

  1. Open the toolbar’s Tools menu, choose Skills & Command, select Skills and choose Create Skill.
  2. Choose Simple mode and describe how the task should be handled.
  3. Select Continue in chat and refine the instructions with the assistant if needed.
  4. Open Preview and save Skill, review the draft and save it.

For example:

Example request

Create a Skill for comparing online courses. Use the course providers’ pages, include duration and total price, and flag missing information. Finish with a table and source links.

The draft becomes a Skill only when you use the preview’s save action.

Write or import SKILL.md

Choose Write SKILL.md to write the instructions yourself, or use Import files or Import folder to bring in an existing Skill.

Start the file with a frontmatter block: name and description between two --- lines, as shown below. Use the same name in the file and the editor.

--- name: course-comparison description: Compare online courses using provider pages and the user's learning goals. --- Read the selected course pages before comparing them. Include the course name, provider, duration, total price and source link. Mark missing prices as unknown. Keep different currencies separate. Apply the user's budget and time constraints, then explain the shortlist.

Reference files can add text the Skill draws on, such as an output template or editorial rules. Use relative paths inside the imported Skill folder. Starizon does not run imported scripts when it loads a Skill.

Use a Skill

Type /skill:course-comparison with your request, or select the Skill from the drawer. Replace the example name with the name of your saved Skill.

Example request

/skill:course-comparison Compare the pages in this tab group for a beginner with four hours a week.

To let Starizon pick the Skill on its own, review it, turn on Allow automatic use after reviewing this Skill, and keep Skills & Command enabled in the input’s Tools menu. Starizon can then choose it for a matching task. Select it yourself when you want to make that call.

A Skill gives Starizon no new permissions. A Skill that writes to an app still needs a connected account and Apps access. One that clicks through a website needs Agent S6.

Choose a Command

Type / in the input and choose a Command for the current task. The Command tab of Skills & Command also lets you decide which Commands the assistant may use on its own.

Picking a Command for one task leaves the automatic-use setting for future tasks as it is.

Use /bookmarks, /tabs or /highlight to start with that capability, or describe a combined task in AI Chat. /summarize, /tldr and the writing commands use the selected content and instructions.

Some Commands start a separate flow:

CommandUse it for
/extractExtract from selected pages. Use AI Chat to combine the extraction with files, saved knowledge or further processing.
/agentA task that combines research and materials with website actions.
/automationBrowser actions on their own. Use /agent when the task needs your other materials or Skills.
/researchA hosted report from public web sources, with a plan to review before it starts.
/schedule or /monitorCreate a scheduled task or page monitor in a setup conversation.

/research and Replay cannot use attached Knowledge Base documents or collections, Spaces or uploaded files. To use those materials, describe the task in AI Chat, or choose Agent S6 if it needs website actions. You can also remove an unsupported attachment and keep your draft.

Edit and reuse

Open the Skill’s menu to edit or delete it. New tasks use the saved version, and a task already running keeps the version it started with.

Use a Skill for instructions you want applied again. To repeat a supported run’s saved actions or extraction setup, see Replay. To carry project materials into another conversation, use a Space.
